This weekend, "Optometry's Meeting" will be hosted in the city of Philadelphia.  This will be the 117th Annual AOA Congress & 44th Annual AOSA Conference.  With the opening session beginning on Wednesday, this meeting is jam packed with more than 200 hours of continuing education, and more than 200 companies exhibiting their products.

IBISWorld Updates its US Industry Market Research Report

While the global economic recession spurred a reduction in sales of non-essential eyewear products, and a slowdown in consumer upgrades, the American market for essential products like eyeglass lens and frames, contact lens and protective eyewear remained relatively stable.  IBISWorld points out that 75% of the American adults who need help to see provide a reliable stream of revenue for the glasses and contact lenses manufacturing industry.
