Both Sauflon and The Cooper Companies recently put out positive statements announcing that the latter company is set to acquire the total share capital of the former. With both firms signing definitive agreements that set out a roadmap for the deal, only approval from the relevant regulatory bodies is needed before the mechanics of coming together are put in motion; industry experts expect to see the reworked company in operation before the end of fiscal 2014.

Cooper Companies recently announced its agreement to acquire Sauflon Pharmaceuticals Ltd, a European manufacturer and distributor of soft contact lenses and contact lens solution.  As indicated in their press release this deal took $1.2 Billion.  The transaction is still subject to approval by the regulators, but closure is anticipated by October of 2014.
