(See the Video Here:  Video Quick Tip)

So your patient has astigmatism and wants to dispose of their lenses daily.  What do you do?  As contact lens fitters, we are fortunate to practice in a time when our options are ever increasing.  It used to be that when patients presented with astigmatism we had very few soft lens designs to offer outside of a custom made-to-order lens.  The recent release of Alcon’s Dailies Aqua Comfort Plus Toric option demonstrates how far we have come, not only in parameters but in modalities.

iPhone Icon

{EAV:5b53310b91c12f61}

TheRightContact.com mobile app is in its final stage of development. TheRightContact App, which will first be available on iTunes, is set to arrive early 2013. Our Apple developers have created both an iPhone and iPad version.

Like the website, TheRightContact mobile app will allow users to easily search and compare contact lenses as well as lens care products. This new technology will enable practitioners to find the same types of relevant parameters, but now even faster using their mobile devices. The 5 database structure will remain the same. Products are listed under the categories of Soft Lenses, Gas Permeable Lenses, Hybrid Lenses, Button Materials and Lens Products.

Other features of the website are being repeated on the mobile platform as well. Articles, Videos, Glossary, Fitting Tools, including calculators will still be accessible. Using push notification technology users will also be notified immediately on product releases, parameter changes, and other types of news within the contact lens industry.

Where are you finding your contact lens information? 4

TheRightContact.com

For decades, contact lens professionals have used journals to obtain contact lens information. While this was an adequate tool in the past, this search method is quickly turning obsolete. Analysis shows that more and more people are turning to computers and mobile devices to find the information they need.

Has the contact lens market kept up with these changes? No. Traditional print sources are just unable to assist practitioners with the thousands of contact lenses currently on the market. With journals as the only option, it is becoming increasingly difficult to sift through all the excess to find the right product for one’s patient.

In order for doctors to learn about the various contact lens designs, and better understand their differences, there needs to be an easily accessible centralized location where one can review these lens specifications. This location should be updated in real-time, offer new ways of analyzing contact lens products, host an online community and provide an overall next level resource for practitioners.

The Right Contact, Inc. has set out to do just that! TheRightContact.com is a resource for contact lens professionals (see the ad http://youtu.be/ghqY8id9u2Y). What was done was combine the individual specifications of more than 2000 contact lens products from over 150 manufacturers. Using a state of the art website and mobile application, TheRightContact.com is now enabling contact lens professionals to be able to sort through contact lens products more efficiently than ever before.
